Fine Art Faculty exhibit is Open!

The 2013-2014 Fine Art Faculty exhibit is open and looks great! There will be a reception tomorrow (Thursday, December 5th) from 4-6pm with refreshments, live music, and it's free!

We will close for the holidays from December 20 - January 13th, then we'll open again January 14th until February 2, 2014.

A super show by 8 OWU faculty members, covering a range of media and techniques: ceramics, painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking and felting.

Inspiring new exhibits

We're busy installing 2 new exhibits to open on Sunday, October 13th with a reception for the artists from 2-4pm!

Melinda Rosenberg creates wall sculptures from reclaimed wood, and Rod Bouc paints landscapes and draws evocative clouds. Both artists are from Columbus, and both will be here for the reception on Sunday. Be sure to stop by!

Another great Fall Semester...

...with stunning artwork! We are open for the 2013-2014 Academic Year, showcasing the amazing photography of Caleb Cain Marcus and his portfolio "A Portrait of Ice" as well as the mesmerizing large scale drawings and paintings of John Sabraw from his "Chroma", "Gamut", "Supplication" and "Unified Theory" series.

"Unexpected" artwork

"Unexpected" is the title of the 2013 QSDS Invitational Exhibition now on view at the Ross Art Museum. Entrants were asked specifically to submit those quilts that were most unusual, whether in technique, imagery or content, and the result is a striking show of 52 quilts from across the United States as well as Israel and Japan.

The summer hours for the Ross are:

Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday 1-5pm, Thursdays 1-7pm, or by special appointment.

Stop in and enjoy huge quilts, tiny quilts, jeweled, painted and printed quilts. There is even 1 quilt that is 26 feet long!

Senior Show 2013



Yes, the Senior Fine Art Majors exhibition "Marks Made" opened April 13th with a great reception. The Seniors welcomed their friends and family and shared their accomplishments from the past 4 years here at Ohio Wesleyan.

The exhibit will remain open until Sunday, May 12th. We'll close at about noon that day for Commencement and re-open the 17th with a brand new show. Be sure to stop in and see the wonderful work our seniors have on display.

Sunday afternoon in the Ross

February 24th from 2:00-4:00pm we'll open the latest exhibit, "Diverse", an exhibition featuring works by an eclectic group of seven female artists.

Great range of works, exciting and fresh, the exhibit will run til March 31st. (we will be closed from 3/11-16 for Spring Break).

Marjorie Bender, N. Penney Denning, Egle Gatins, Elena Osterwalder, Elsie Sanchez, Barbara Vogel and Leah Wong, all contributing work to this exhibit.

From Liverpool to Ohio....

....With Stops In Between is the title of the newest exhibit at the Ross! We re-opened today after a long winter break. So stop in, and greet the new year with new art!

Barry Gunderson is a Kenyon professor, and has created a vast amount of sculptures in several media. We are displaying 5 different series of work, so there is sure to be something that speaks to you!


Barry will be giving an illustrated talk on Thursday, January 17 at 3:15pm in Edgar Hall (across the street from the museum) then we will fete him in the Ross Museum from 4-6:00pm. Both events are free and open to all!
