Happy New Year!

We open tomorrow with our first exhibits of 2015...mixed-media drawings by Larry Cressman, and selections from the Ross Museum's Permanent Collection.

It's been a very busy break for us, between taking down & packing up the last exhibits, and getting the new ones up. Hopefully all will enjoy the artwork, which includes Larry's constructed drawings
....intricate twigs and branches, painted and then pinned into patterns like a pencil drawing. I'm fascinated by the cast shadows on the wall, as well. Covering Ground will only be on display until February 15th, so don't wait, come in soon!


The artwork from the Permanent Collection includes many pieces that are very recent acquisitions, either gifts or purchases (hence the title One Way or the Other)

Another great Fall Semester...

...with stunning artwork! We are open for the 2013-2014 Academic Year, showcasing the amazing photography of Caleb Cain Marcus and his portfolio "A Portrait of Ice" as well as the mesmerizing large scale drawings and paintings of John Sabraw from his "Chroma", "Gamut", "Supplication" and "Unified Theory" series.

From Liverpool to Ohio....

....With Stops In Between is the title of the newest exhibit at the Ross! We re-opened today after a long winter break. So stop in, and greet the new year with new art!

Barry Gunderson is a Kenyon professor, and has created a vast amount of sculptures in several media. We are displaying 5 different series of work, so there is sure to be something that speaks to you!

Barry will be giving an illustrated talk on Thursday, January 17 at 3:15pm in Edgar Hall (across the street from the museum) then we will fete him in the Ross Museum from 4-6:00pm. Both events are free and open to all!

Fabulous Lithographs

Justin has been talking about this exhibit for what seems like 6 years, and it is finally here!

The Tamarind Institute in New Mexico has sent us the Touchstones lithography show, celebrating Excellence in Fine Art Lithography. 61 prints by 61 artists are on view, with a wide range of subjects and styles.

The exhibit will be open until December 20th, normal museum hours (with the exception of Thanksgiving day) and there will be a Gallery Talk by master printer Bill Lagattuta followed by a reception on Thursday, October 25th at 3:15pm. Free to all, as always!

Gallery Talk and Reception!

Fred Marsh will be giving a Gallery Talk in Beeghly Library, Gallery 2001, on Wednesday, February 16th at 4:15pm. His large photographs of abandoned buildings in Germany are haunting images; evocative and disarming. Please join us for the talk, followed by a reception right in the gallery!

Rock and Roll Art!

Thursday, January 20th, at 4:15pm, musician and artist Craig Matis will be giving a Gallery Talk in Gallery 2001, which is in BEEGHLY LIBRARY, followed by a reception.

Craig uses cut paper collage to illustrate his lyrics and music. The work was recently reviewed in the Columbus Dispatch, and this is the last chance to experience it! The talk is free and open to everyone, so I hope to see you there!

Doug Goering to speak on Campus

Thursday, September 3rd, the featured artist of the first museum exhibit, "Marking Time", for the Fall 2009 Semester, will be on campus for a talk and reception in his honor. Doug Goering, from Albion, Michigan, will be speaking at 3:00pm in room 121 in Edgar Hall. Afterwards, from 4:00 - 6:00pm, there will be a lovely reception in the Museum with refreshments and live music.

Both events are free!
